Εντέλει ο ΓΑΠ μόνο αφελής δεν είναι. Η υποκριτική πρωτοβουλία για εξεταστική …πενταετίας, δεν είχε “κομματική” σκοπιμότητα αλλά απέλπιδα διάθεση συγκάλυψης των εγκλημάτων της κυβέρνησης Σημίτη – Γ. Παπανδρέου.
Υποστήριζαν λοιπόν οι επιτελείς, ο κύριος Παπακωνσταντίνου και λοιποί αξιωματούχοι ότι η κυβέρνηση του ΠΑΣΟΚ έπραξε τις απολυτως νόμιμες και συμβατές με το Ευρωπαϊκό δίκαιο ενέργειες, για να καλύψει (μεταθέσει) χρέος της τάξης του
ΕΝΟΣ ΔΙΣΕΚΑΤΟΜΥΡΙΟΥ ΕΥΡΩ
Δημοσιογράφοι, αποκαλυπτικά ΜΜ”Ε” και λοιποί εμπλεκόμενοι τόνιζαν το ποσό, εκτός από τον κύριο Παπακωνσταντίνου. Εμείς βέβαια το είπαμε από την πρώτη στιγμή ότι δεν είναι δυνατόν να πληρώνεις μίζα 300 εκ. Ευρώ (!!) για να γλιτώσεις Ένα Δις. Είναι αυτονόητο.
Διαβάστε λοιπόν το δημοσίευμα του Bloomberg όπου αμέσως το Ένα Δις γίνεται 2,37 Δις Ευρώ.
Και βέβαια αυτό είναι μόνο ένα μέρος. Γιατί σύμφωνα με τις δικές μας πληροφορίες, το ποσό ΥΠΕΡΒΑΙΝΕΙ κατά πολύ και αυτά τα μεγέθη, όπως και οι μίζες. Για την ακρίβεια, διασταυρώνουμε πληροφορίες που συμπίπτουν στο ότι την πενταετία 1998 – 2003 το σενάριο επαναλήφθηκε ΠΑΝΩ ΑΠΟ 12 ΦΟΡΕΣ.

Brussels is also trying to make Greece report details of a controversial 2001 currency swap transaction with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. that shrank Greece’s reported debt number.
The EU had set a deadline of Friday for a response, but as of Monday afternoon in Europe, it was unmet. An EU spokesman said the Greeks had sent some documents Friday, but they related to a separate Greek accounting problem and not the swap.
A Greek government official in Brussels said that the finance ministry, which is in charge of gathering the information, was hampered by strikes among its own personnel last week.Greece has asked for more time.

Feb. 22 (Bloomberg) — Goldman Sachs Group Inc. did “nothing inappropriate” when it arranged currency swaps for Greece that reduced the nation’s national debt by 2.37 billion euros ($3.2 billion), a top executive said.
“They did produce a rather small, but nevertheless not insignificant reduction, in Greece’s debt-to-GDP ratio,” Gerald Corrigan, chairman of Goldman Sachs’s regulated bank subsidiary, told a panel of U.K. lawmakers today. The swaps were “in conformity with existing rules and procedures.”
Corrigan was the first executive at Goldman Sachs, Wall Street’s most profitable securities firm, to speak publicly about the swaps after politicians including Germany’s ruling Christian Democrats questioned whether it helped Greece reduce the deficit to comply with the euro’s membership criteria. The bank was paid about $300 million from the swaps, the New York Times reported Feb. 14.
“There was nothing inappropriate,” Corrigan told Parliament’s Treasury Committee. “With the benefit of hindsight, it seems to be very clear that the standards of transparency could have, and probably should have been, higher.”
The New York-based firm consulted European Union regulators when it arranged the swaps in 2000 and 2001, he said. Eurostat officials said last week they only recently became aware of the contracts. Goldman Sachs was “by no means the only bank involved” in arranging the contracts, Corrigan said.
